下次会面 – 年度会议，2013年2月28日
每年的第一次会面一直是分会的年度会议。这是一次可以更加积极参与活动的机会。我们都忠于新中友好协会；通过共同努力可以达成我们组织的目标。在会议之前，请想一想您可以参与的方式；委员会一直会吸收新成员和思想！
发言者：Phil Rolston –中国的食物和食物安全
随着我们的年度会议，我们将会欣赏2013年第一位发言者的发言。
Phil Rolston博士是Lincoln AgResearch的高级草原科学家，至1983年以来他已经访问中国55次以上。
这些项目关注了郊区和贫困区的发展，通常与少数民族和各种援助组织合作。近来，焦点转移到了培训农业技师，学生，和牲畜饲养公司。
从60年代的饥荒到今日，中国已在食物方面已经基本达到自供自足的水平。然而随着人口的上升，对蛋白质的需求提升，及城市扩展导致农田衰减等问题，这点正在面临很大的压力。这次演讲将会讨论食物在中国社交生活中的重要性，以及未来的食品安全问题。
The English Plural According to ….
We’ll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes,
But the plural of ox becomes oxen, not oxes;
One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese,
Yet the plural of moose should never be meese;
You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice,
Yet the plural of house is houses, not hice.
If the plural of man is always called men,
Why shouldn’t the plural of pan be called pen ?
If I speak of my foot and show you my feet,
And I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet ?
If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth,
Why shouldn’t the plural of booth be called beeth ?
Then one may be that, & three would be those,
Yet hat in the plural would never be hose;
And the plural of cat is cats, not cose.
We speak of a brother & also of brethren,
But though we say mother, we never say methren.
Then the masculine pronouns are he, his & him,
But imagine the feminine: she, shis & shim !
